What advantage do I have using a kennel as my boarding choice?

If the kennel is a quality facility, pets receive constant supervision and observation in an environment of all healthy dogs and cats. All pets are required to be inoculated for rabies, DHLPP and bordetella.

How do I know if the Kennel is a quality facility?

Ask your local veterinary for their recommendation, then visit and inspect every area of the kennel building. A kennel that is open for inspection at all times assures excellence in care.

What should I bring?

You may bring bedding and a few toys (please label or mark items clearly). If your pet is on a special diet please bring their food in a sealed container labeled with their name and amount to be given daily. All medications should be labeled clearly with name and dosage. Please bring a copy of your pet's current shot records. Our requirements for dogs are: Rabies, DHLPP and bordetella every 6 months.

Will my pet be sad, scared or lonely?

Our trained kennel assistants provide lots of attention to each pet. They can spot stress and will work with that pet to eliminate their fears. Most pets enjoy the company of people and other pets. They adapt quickly to their new surroundings.

What if my pet won't eat?

We use a small amount of high quality canned food mixed with dry. Most pets eat immediately. For any that do not eat we use rice, hamburger, cheese or chicken. No pet will go hungry.

What if my dog can't go on concrete?

Those dogs will be hand walked every three hours from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Can I call and check on my pet?

Positively yes! Many of our clients call to check on their pets.

Can I have a friend visit my pet?

Certainly, they may visit any time during our regular hours of 8:30 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. Monday thru Saturday.

Does my pet have direct contact with other pets?

No, except for puppies under the age of 5 months who are of the same size.

What if my pet becomes sick?

Less than one per hundred ever become sick. If they should, we have emergency Veterinarian Service 1/2 mile away. We will contact your veterinarian as well. First aid supplies and simple medications are in stock at kennel.

What is Bordetella?

Bordetella is a severe respiratory virus common wherever a large number of dogs are present. It is easily prevented by a vaccine given either by nasal or injection every six months or at east 5-10 days prior to boarding.

Can you give my pet medications?

Yes, our staff can administer oral, topical or injections of medication required by your Veterinarian.

Is the kennel heated and Air-conditioned?

Yes, both. We keep it climate controlled at all times.

How much time does my dog spend outside?

Each dog has an individual run. If the outside temperature is a comfortable, dogs may access the outside run at will from 7:30 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. If the weather is inclement dogs are permitted outside every three hours.

What if I want extra exercise?

We will gladly provide 15 minutes walks, but there is a charge for that service.

How and when do I pay?

You may prepay or pay upon pick up. We accept checks, and most credit cards.

What about deposits and cancellations?

Deposits of $25.00 are required for reservations for major holidays, and during the months of July and August, and on extended holidays.

How do you prevent pets from getting fleas and ticks?

Every pet is inspected upon arrival and must be flea and tick clear or they will be bathed before entering the run area. You will be charged for the bathing service.

Can my dog escape from the kennel?

The building is totally secure. Inside runs have 4 ft. block wall with 4 ft. of fence on the top between each enclosure. Outside fencing is 8 ft. high. The fencing is steel 1" mesh, not standard 2". Pets are unable to climb it. All exterior doors and the entire building are surrounded by a second 8 ft. fence and a series of gates.

What if my dog is afraid of thunderstorms?

A kennel attendant will stay with them until the storm is over.

What about storms or emergencies at night?

My residence is on the property. There is an intercom connected at night.

What if my dog does not like men?

In that case only a female attendant will provide care for your dog.

How far in advance do I need to make my reservations?

During summer vacation months and over holidays at least 3 to 4 weeks in advance is recommended. At other times, only a few days.

My dog is very old, deaf or blind?

We have a special care area of 4x8 indoor runs. All dogs in this area are assisted to the outdoor areas for walks every 3 hours.

Does my cat need Feline Leukemia?

No it is not required, however it is recommended. We require Feline Distemper and rabies for all cats being boarded.
