Hours of Operation

For Pick-up and Drop-off:

• Monday - Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Sunday 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Closed major holidays

Medical or family emergencies may arrive out of hours with an appointment. An out of hours fee will be charged for all non-emergency drop-offs and pick-ups.

Rate Classes

Dog rates are by weight. The rate classes are given below. Please call for a quote on rates for your pet. 301-898-3198

Dog weight classes 20 lbs and under 20-45 45-90 90-120 over 120

Extra Charges

• There is no extra charge for any medications or special diets needed.
• For special diets please put in sealed container or in pre-measured Ziploc bags with pet's name.
• Medications should have pet's name, times to be given and dosage amounts.
• Dogs requiring hand walking to relieve themselves will not be charged extra.
• There will be an extra charge of $3.00 per 15 minutes for requested exercise/playtime.

• $1.00 off on second dog in same run
• $1.00 off each consecutive dog/cat after 2nd pet boarded at same time
• 10% Senior discount
• 10% for over two week stay

Deposits

• Deposits of $25.00 are required for reservations for major holidays, during the months of July and August, and on extended holidays.

Arrival

Upon arrival, every pet is logged into the master board with complete owner instructions. The same information appears on each kennel card. This gives our staff an immediate visual on every pet's requirements.

Feeding Program

Feeding Program - Dogs and cats are fed between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m., and if a second feeding is required, between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. We have selected three dry dog foods that are top of the line, palatable, and satisfy most dogs: Iams Mini Chunks, Purina One and Pedigree. Select canned food is usually mixed. We provide several brands of cat foods.

Special diets are always accommodated at no additional charge. Food containers need to be labeled with the dog's name and feeding instructions.

Milk-Bone® treats are the primary dog treats at Sunchaser three or four times a day. Holiday goodies are special treats.

Medications

Our staff is trained to administer oral or injectable medications as required. We maintain accurate medication charts and will consult your veterinarian on health-related questions. All medications are given at no extra charge. Please advise us on any medical condition upon arrival.

Exercise

Our belief is that fresh air and exercise significantly contribute to the well being of every pet. It reduces stress to have freedom. Each dog begins the day at 7:30 a.m. when they are able to go outside. Hand walking in the play yards is done after breakfast and as time permits from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Those pets unable to eliminate on concrete are walked every three hours. All dogs are inside for the night by 10 p.m.

Veterinarian

We have an established relationship with many veterinarian practices and communicate with them often.

All pets will be transported to their own Veterinarian for emergencies, whenever possible, and the pets own Veterinarian will be contacted with questions about medication and special care.

Inspection and Visits

The door is always open. Visits and inspections are encouraged and never require an appointment. Our assurance to pet owners that the highest standards of care are provided at all times.
